Chris Schellin, President of Westwood Net Lease Advisors just closed on a two store Dollar General Portfolio in North Carolina and Rhode Island. The buyer, a private investor from Texas, came to Westwood looking to replace $3.5mm in a 1031 exchange. Although having vast experience in commercial real estate this was the buyer’s first retail NNN investment. After 45 days of looking at different property types, rates of return and tenants the buyer chose Dollar General as their next investment. Mr Schellin was able to locate two Dollar General’s from two different sellers in Charlotte NC and Tiverton RI.
